We keep as little as we can: this site’s access logs, a count of its visits, and the mail you choose to send us. What a purchase of kubelatch Pro needs is on kubelatch.com’s privacy page.

This site

This site sets no cookies, and nothing on it comes from another site. It stores one thing in your browser, and only if you close or send the newsletter card that appears while you read a post: a mark not to show it again, which never leaves your browser. The server that hosts it keeps access logs: your IP address, the date, the page requested and your browser’s user agent. They are kept for 30 days, to keep the site secure and working, and then deleted. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in the security of the site.

Visit counts

We count the visits to this site with Umami, open-source analytics that we run on our own server; no one else receives the data. For each page you view, the site’s one script sends the address of the page, the site you came from, your browser, operating system, device type, screen size and language, and how long the page took to load and respond. Umami works out your country, region and city from your IP address and does not store the address. To tell visits apart it makes an identifier from your IP address, your browser and the current month: it does not contain your address, and it changes every month, so your visits in one month can’t be linked to the next. If your browser sends Do Not Track, the script sends nothing. We use the counts to learn which pages are read and how people find them; the legal basis is our legitimate interest in knowing how the site is used. The records are deleted after 25 months. The same counter, on the same terms, runs on kubelatch.com and docs.kubelatch.com.

If you write to us

If you write to hola@picaportelabs.com, hello@kubelatch.com or security@kubelatch.com, your message and our replies stay in that mailbox for as long as the conversation needs, and we use them only to answer you. The mailboxes are hosted by Zoho Mail in its EU data centres; Zoho acts as our processor, under its own privacy policy at zoho.com/privacy.html. Writing to us puts you on no list; the newsletter is a separate sign-up. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in answering you.

The newsletter

If you sign up to the newsletter, we keep your e-mail address, your language, the date you confirmed the link we sent you and, if you unsubscribe, the date you did. We use them to send you the newsletter, with our publications and with news and offers from Picaporte Labs and its products, in your language. The legal basis is your consent, which you give by confirming the link; you withdraw it with the unsubscribe link every issue carries, or by writing to hola@picaportelabs.com. We keep the data until you unsubscribe; after that, your address stays marked as unsubscribed so that we do not write to you again. Two parties handle it for us: Resend, which sends the e-mails and keeps the sending list and the unsubscribe list in the European Union region we chose, under its own privacy policy at resend.com/legal/privacy-policy; and our customer records, on our own server in the European Union. The service that receives the form keeps its own logs, with the address of each request and confirmation and the IP address it came from, for 30 days, to keep the service secure.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you can ask us for access to your data, its rectification or erasure, its portability, and the restriction of its processing, and you can object to it. Write to hola@picaportelabs.com; we answer within one month. If you think we have not handled your data properly, you can complain to the Spanish data protection authority, the Agencia Española de Protección de Datos (aepd.es).

Controllers

Picaporte Labs, a company in formation in Spain, and Sergio Jurado, who acts for it as a natural person until it is registered, are the controllers of the personal data this page describes. Picaporte Labs’ full identification is in the Legal notice.

Changes

If this policy changes, we publish the new version on this page with its date.
